Equipping Children, Enriching Families, Elevating Community
 
Our Goals For Preschoolers:
 
     The aim of Wickenburg Christian Academy preschool three year old program is to spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively prepare children and their families for the coming years of formal schooling.  We also want to introduce God’s love for them and to encourage them to enter into a personal relationship with their heavenly Father.  We desire to strengthen their families by enhancing parenting skills and supporting them in any way we can.
  
The children in our three year old program will:
  • Spiritual Development: - understand that God is a loving God
                    - learn about God
                    - learn that God loves each one of them
        
  • Social/Emotional Development:
                         - begin to function away from parents, without                          emotional upset
                    - develop friendships with a variety of individuals
                    - learn to share and develop tolerance toward                          others
                    - develop language to express self and aid in                          conflict resolution
                    - express both negative and positive emotions
                    - identify and express emotional needs
                    - develop self-control
                    - become comfortable and  to participate in small                          group activities
                    - to become successful in daily transitions
                    - follow simple directions
                    - learn about personal hygiene
 
  • Physical Development
               - enjoy rhythm and movement
               - begin to use materials and equipment to                     strengthen fine motor skills
               - actively pursue large motor activity
               -understand that their body is created by God and                     takes special responsibility to care for it (ie, good                     nutrition, cleanliness, etc)

  • Cognitive Development
               - develop listening skills and engage in                     age-appropriate learning
               - identify and experience primary colors
               - learn 4 basic shapes (circle, triangle, square and                     rectangle)
               - counting 1 through 10
               - begin to understand positional concepts
  
Expected Outcomes For Families:  
 
     Wickenburg Christian Academy preschool’s desire is to partner with families as they prepare their children for the upcoming formal years of schooling.
